Vulcan Logic
Online Privacy Policy
Vulcan Logic is committed to maintaining your confidence and
trust and, accordingly, maintains the following privacy policy
to protect personal information you provide online.
Basic Confidentiality Policy
It is Vulcan Logic’s policy that personal information, such
as your name, postal and email addresses, telephone number and
fax number, is private and confidential. Accordingly, the
personal information you provide is stored in a secure location,
is accessible only by designated staff, and is used only for the
purposes for which you provide the information (such as to
respond to a request for additional information).
If you also indicate on our site that you would like to
receive emailed information about Vulcan Logic's product and
service offerings, such as vendor promotions, new products, or
site updates, your personal information will be added to
appropriate Vulcan Logic mailing lists. You can place or remove
yourself from these mailing lists by visiting the "Email
Subscriptions" area of the Vulcan Logic Web site at
www.vulcanlogic.com.
No Release of Information to Third Parties
Personal information will not be released to third parties
except to further the purpose for which you provide the
information, such as making online purchases or paying bills
online (where available). Personal information can also be
released if release is required by law or is pertinent to
judicial or governmental investigations or proceedings. There
are no other circumstances under which we will provide or sell
personal information to third parties.
No Computer Tracking of Identifiable Information
Vulcan Logic's Internet servers are not set up to track,
collect or distribute personal information about their visitors.
They do recognize the home server of visitors, but not
email addresses. For example, we can tell which Internet Service
Provider our visitors use, but not the names, addresses or other
information about our visitors that would allow us to identify
the particular visitors to our sites. This information is used
only for internal purposes by Vulcan Logic Information Systems
staff.
In addition, our Web site tracks information about the visits
the site receives. For example, we compile statistics that show
the daily number of visitors to our site, as well as the daily
requests we receive for particular pages on our Web site. These
aggregated statistics are used internally to better provide
services to the public and may also be provided to others, but
again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot
be used to gather such information.
Surveys & Questionnaires
From time to time our site requests information from users
via surveys or questionnaires. Participation in these surveys or
questionnaires is completely voluntary and the user therefore
has a choice whether or not to disclose this information.
Information requested may include contact information (such as
name and address), and demographic information. Contact
information will be used to reply to these surveys and
questionnaires, or to follow up on an issue (as appropriate).
Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or
improving the use and satisfaction of this site, as well as
improving the services offered to our clients and visitors.
Security
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users’
information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web
site, the information is protected both online and offline.
When our application/order forms ask users to enter sensitive
information (such as credit card number), that information is
encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in
the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as an online
order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as
Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes
locked, as opposed to unlocked or open, when you are just
‘surfing’.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information
online, we also do everything in our power to protect user
information offline. All of our users’ information, not just the
sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our
offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a
specific job (for example, fulfilling a request for additional
information) are granted access to personally identifiable
information. Furthermore, all employees are kept up-to-date on
our security and privacy practices. Finally, the servers on
which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a
secure environment.
If you have any questions about the security at our Web site,
you can send an email to
the Webmaster.
Cookies
Cookies are data that a Web site transfers to an individual's
browser for record-keeping purposes. Cookies, which are an
industry standard used by most Web sites, including those
operated by Vulcan Logic, can facilitate a user's ongoing access
to and use of a site. The cookie itself does not contain any
personally identifiable information.
The Vulcan Logic Web site requires that cookies be enabled on
the users' browsers, to correctly manage special personalization
features of the Web site. While it is possible to disable
cookies on most browsers, a browser with cookies disabled will
not be able to navigate the Vulcan Logic Web site.
Links to Third Party and Co-Branded Sites
Vulcan Logic has established relationships that allow
visitors to our Web site to link directly to sites operated by
third parties. Some of these sites may be "co-branded" with a
Vulcan Logic logo; however, they are not operated or
maintained by Vulcan Logic.
Vulcan Logic chooses its business partners carefully.
However, Vulcan Logic is not responsible for the content or
practices of Web sites operated by third parties that are linked
to our site. These links are meant for the user's convenience
only. Links to third party sites do not constitute sponsorship,
endorsement or approval by Vulcan Logic of the content, policies
or practices of such third party sites. We encourage our users
to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy
statements of each and every Web site that collects personally
identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely
to information collected by this Web site.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those
changes on our Web site. In this way, our users are always aware
of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what
circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide
to use personally identifiable information in a manner different
from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify
users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether
or not we use their information in this different manner. We
will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under
which the information was collected.
